Will Flavell, longboard slide video
Will Flavell, longboard slide,
originally uploaded by Everybody’s a Genius.
Just wanted to post a quick video. This is my first recorded longboard slide. It was taken at Platte River State Park. Some really nice hills there and the concrete (sorry to asphalt) is pristine. Check it out! Sorry for such a tiny video. That is all that WordPress will let me display. But if you want to see the video in a larger size check out my Flickr account. I also have a bunch of longboarding photos.
Oh, and if you are wondering, I ride a Sector 9 cruiser and and use Loaded Gloves.
Seth Godin at TED
Hey Everybody,
One of my favorite idea guys is Seth Godin. I just saw that his speech at this year’s TED conference was available. I thought that I would share it with you.
Check out the video here: http://www.ted.com/talks/view/id/538.

A worthy tribute: Kurt Vonnegut
Hey Everybody,
I rarely put personal posts up. But something very sad happened about a year ago and I just wanted to put up a quick post about it. Last April 11, 2007 one of my heroes passed on. Kurt Vonnegut, was more than just a writer. He was an eloquent speaker, a great humanitarian and a smart man. He gave me reasons and ideas, at times when no one else did.
He lived from 1922 to 2007. He wrote 14 novels and a large variety of other stories, collections and plays. I have read everything that he wrote. My personal favorite is Bluebeard for its beauty. Learn more about his life and work at Vonnegut.com.
Here is the best tribute that I have seen to him.
I just wanna leave this post with what I think he would call the best possible review:
Thank you Mr. Vonnegut, You always made me think.
Bozell Intern
Hey Everybody,
I am featured in this intern video for Bozell. It is a video that is meant to draw interns to our company for our summer internship program. I am the last speaker. But please don’t judge me by the hair.
We got 163 views so far, yeah, yey. Oh, and if you are interested in the internship check out our intern site: BozellIntern.

Usermercials
Usermercials, or user generated commercials are a cool new form of promotion that I have just learned about. What I like about them from a marketing standpoint is that they let use user participate in the brand, create content, they are cheap and they promote a company using the most trusted from of communication, word of mouth.
I do not endorse products on this Web site, just ideas. And I wanted to share with everyone this Web site with an ingenious idea: Qoof.com. At www.qoof.com users can upload their commercials (made at home for a low budget) and get Paypaled $5. Companies can then log in and buy the commericals as content. Users can also take a widget (snippet) version of the ads to post on their blogs or wherever. Then other viewers can purchase right from the snippet or widget. It is so easy that I have included an example below:
| PHILLIP STEIN WATCHES |

( I don’t know if the purchase function will work or not.)
Oh and here is a Youtube.com video that I found with more information on their $5 usermercial submission program. So readers go out there an get your $5.
What is New Media?
Well you guessed it. I just learned how to embed YouTube videos in my blog.
And since I have a lot of New Media RSS feeds and in my “About” section I mention that I work in New Media; I thought that I would share this video that I found that tries to define new media.
Here is a lot of industry people doing their best at defining the undefinable:
